The popping noise of the Champaign corks were the conclusion to a successful years racing for newcomer to the road racing scene Wayne Hamilton 18 Portadown.
Winning the Ulster and Irish Championship title for the Junior Support, Wayne, has caught the spectators gaze on numerous occasions throughout the year on his 250cc Honda.
With highlights to include 6 race wins in a row and the taking of the lap record at the Bush Circuit by 3 seconds in damp conditions, his success has been hard to beat and easy to admire.
“I was honoured to be the first ever winner at the new Armoy road race, I would like to dedicate that win to Mark Young, Andrew Neill and Padrig Cambell who all lost their lives to this sport during the season”.
Supported by his Father, David, and the TrackDayTools bike hire business they run together, the year has had many ups and downs.
With fantastic race wins followed by frustration at an engine seizure in Athea whilst leading the race by 9seconds, Wayne has proven that he can ride with a clear and calm head and a positive outlook on his racing debut.
