My TT dream

1 of 12

The story I want to tell is of how my 30 year long dream of going to the TT came true in 2013.

I’m 51-years-old and I live in the USA. I’ve been a TT fan since the early 80s and the days of Joey Dunlop.

Last year my friend from Brighton asked me to join him and his friends at the TT. I was delighted, but having no passport or money it was not going to happen in 2012.

But I had a year to get ready. I saved up $4,000, got my passport and hopped on a flight to London.

My friend Mark put me up at his house in Brighton before we made the trip up to Liverpool (on our bikes) and jumped on the ferry for the best time of my life.

I took a hard back TT book with me and got 24 autographs including John McGuinness, Guy Martin and the Dunlop brothers. We met Michael as we were having lunch at a TexMex place in Douglas – he was sat at the next table with his crew!
