TT 2014: Rain delays play on day two

1 of 1

The second day of racing at the Isle of Man has been hit by heavy overnight rain, meaning that the scheduled 10am road closure has now been bumped to the afternoon, with a further announcement expected by TT organisers at 12pm.

The Island is currently experiencing blue skies and sunshine, but the rain during the night has left many parts of the course unraceable at the minute. With extra time being allowed for the track to dry, however, racing should be possible by this afternoon.

In previous years with similar circumstances, the opening race of the day, the Supersport TT, has gone mid-afternoon, with a further delay as roads are re-opened to allow locals to go home, before closing again in the evening for a late-starting Superstock TT.
