Dunlop withdraws from TT Lightweight

1 of 1

Michael Dunlop has withdrawn from this morning’s Lightweight race at the Isle of Man TT, pulling out of the supertwin class after his hopes of six wins in a single TT week slipped away with Gary Johnson’s victory in the Supersport TT earlier this week.

Never a fan of the class, Dunlop has struggled to get decent track time on the ER-6 based bike this week, instead concentrating on the supersport bike on which he took his third win of the week. With the three lap race coming only hours ahead of the main race of the weekend, the Senior TT, Dunlop will instead concentrate on winning the blue riband race for the first time.

The race starts at 1015, with the Senior following at 1300.
