Lee Johnston draws first blood in Superstock race

1 of 1

Lee Johnston has taken the first win of the day at the 2015 Ulster Grand Prix, taking advantage of backmarkers on the last lap to squeeze through on Peter Hickman, who led for most of the race on the Briggs Engineering BMW.

However, it was the local star who was able to make it stick, taking the win by only 0.09 at the flag from the Lincolnshire racer and Michael Dunlop. Dunlop, after making big progress in the early parts of the race, was within a second of the leading duo when he got boxed by backmarkers and was forced to settle for the final podium spot.

His brother William, on the sole Tyco BMW, was fourth, ahead of pole man Keith Amor, who inherited the number one starting place from the injured Guy Martin.
