Second TT practice in weather doubt

1 of 1

Tomorrow night’s second practice for the 2015 Isle of Man TT is already in doubt, with severe weather threatened by the Met Office to hit the island just in time for the scheduled start of practice.

The organisers have already confirmed that if the forecast is correct, a decision to scrap the session will be made as early as 2pm tomorrow, according to TT Clerk of Course Gary Thompson.

“At the moment there is every indication that the weather isn’t looking good.  We want to give people plenty of notice so we will review in the morning and make an announcement at around 2pm dependent on conditions at the time.  I will be in constant contact with the Meteorological Office at Ronaldsway – who incidentally were spot on with last night’s forecast when we had to curtail the session towards the end of the Lightweight TT session.”

With tomorrow the crucial first session for the superbikes, and the forecast for Tuesday to be similarly bad, there is already speculation that Saturday’s scheduled Superbike TT will be moved to Sunday in order to give the teams more time to practice.
