Bruce Anstey is set to take his RC213V-S MotoGP replica around the Isle of Man TT course for the first time in this evening’s Superbike practice session.

The New Zealander will race the exotic Grand Prix racer in the Superbike and Senior races if all goes well in practice this week. He is set complete back-to-back laps on the RCV and his CBR1000RR Superbike before deciding which of the Valvoline by Padgetts Racing machines he will take down Bray Hill in Saturday’s opening race.

Earlier today at a secret location on the Island, the £138,000 RCV was fired up for the first time since it arrived on Saturday. For a quick shakedown, Anstey took it for a spin around the residential area before it was taken to the paddock and put through scrutineering.

Speaking after riding the bike for the first time, Anstey said “I can’t wait to ride it tonight. It’s so loud everyone had to put earphones on! It feels special and reminds me of the old days, like an RC30 or RC45. I can’t see why it won’t be quick.”

Anstey will complete his first practice laps this evening on the Superbike before taking the RCV out later in the session.
