Neil Hodgson is looking forward to renewing his rivalry with Chris Walker in World Superbikes next season. Speaking on a Radio One interview on Monday night, Hodgson added: ” but this time I hope that we can work better together rather than knocking each other off. ”

The MCN Man of the Year also dismissed the challenge of Ruben Xaus, adding: ” Both James Toseland and I will finish ahead of him in the championship. ”

Hodgson and Toseland were being interviewed by bike fan Mary-Anne Hobbs.

In between the chat the duo played some of their favourite tunes, including tracks from Robbie Williams, Prince and Queen.

The recording marked the end of a hectic month for Hodgson. Since returning from his honeymoon three weeks ago he has been involved in a nationwide tour to publicise his book, Back on Track. That included a record turnout of over 350 customers at the Lakeside Centre at Thurrock. Hodgson said that he was knocked out by the response: ” One guy bought five books and said that that was his Christmas shopping done for the year! I’ve really enjoyed it but after living out of a suitcase for five weeks now I’m just looking forward to getting home and chilling out for a bit. ”
