Foggy in Valencia to reveal more on Petronas project

IT may be four months before we’re due to see Carl Fogarty’s new Petronas World Superbike contender on the track, but Foggy will be at this weekend’s opening round in Valencia to reveal more details about the multi-million pound project.

Four-times WSB champion Foggy will join his two riders, Troy Corser and James Haydon, for their first press conference, at the Spanish circuit on Saturday.

The rider press conference will be staged at 12 noon (Spanish time) in the SBK Paddock Show, which spectators are allowed to attend.

Foggy said: ” It was never going to be possible to race from the start of this season, given the time scales involved. But we will be a fixture on the World Superbike grid once we have satisfied homologation rules for the series. So, although the season may be starting without us this weekend, we wanted to reassure all the fans that our plans are on schedule to race later in the season. ”

The Foggy FP1 race bike is expected to be revealed within two months, before the first 150 road versions of the bike – the initial stage of the PETRONAS-backed project to produce the first Malaysian superbike – are made available before the end of the year.
