Corser on Pole

Troy Corser continued his domination of Brands Hatch World Superbikes by taking the pole position for Sunday’s race.

The Aussie was the last man out and slowed in the first split but he managed to pick it up in the rest of the lap and finished almost .2 of a second ahead of Honda’s Karl Muggeridge.

World champion James Toseland took his first front row start at Brands Hatch in third place, just ahead of his Ducati team-mate Regis Laconi. Fellow Brit Chris Walker continued his good form throughout the weekend to put his Kawasaki to fifth on the grid.

Corser’s team-mate Yukio Kagayama came out to set the 12th fastest time despite only having ridden three laps today after a huge highside. The Japanese rider wasn’t expected to go out on track but he rode through the pain to get a reasonable place on the grid.

Brit wildcard Dennis Hobbs managed to set a fantastic time on the Nvidia Yamaha R1 to take 13th just behind Kagayama

Ben Bostrom was relegated to 16th place as he first stalled the Renegade Ducati waiting for his Superpole lap to begin, and the machine then cut out less than 10 metres from the start line. See his reaction by following the Brands Superpole Videos link, right.
