Times tumble for Pitt

The Yamaha World Superbike riders completed their final day of testing in Phillip Island today, inching closer to the hot pace set by the Suzuki squad last week.

Andrew Pitt was the fastest rider knocking 1.5 seconds of his previous best time to finish the test with a best lap of 1:33.9.

Haga was still getting used to the bike and was slightly slower at 1:35.0, compared to Troy Corser’s best time of 1:34.2 on his GSX-R1000.

Haga “Again we learned more about the bike today. The 1000cc four-cylinder is very fast of course, but we have also just started working with the bike so there is a lot of learning to do. For sure this is the challenge for us. The bike has a lot of potential but we must still make some small changes to get it just right. We need more testing and development before we are able to win, but I am sure we can do it!”

The team now has to decide whether to take the bikes to Qatar or go back to Valencia to continue testing.
