Corser on pole

Troy Corser has taken the pole position for the Misano round of the World Superbike championship.

Corser set a best lap of 1:36.135 beating Honda rider Chris Vermeulen in to second place.

Regis Laconi took the third fastest lap with Vermeulen’s team-mate Karl Muggeridge taking the final place on the front row.

Frankie Chili took fifth place for what will be his 250th WSB race, followed by Noriyuki Haga, Ivan Clementi and Andrew Pitt.

Chris Walker looked set to put in a good time but he braked a little to hard going in to the chicane, lost the rear and ran off the track.
