Walker tests in Sepang

Britain’s Chris Walker and PSG-1 Kawasaki team-mates Fonsi Nieto and Regis Laconi have finished the first test of the 2006 ZX-10R at Sepang.

The circuit isn’t part of the WSB calendar, so the team had no previous set-up information. It was Fonsi Nieto who finished the test as the fastest rider, having used qualifying tyres to post a time of 2:07.464. Chris Walker was second quickest using 2005 spec Pirelli race rubber to record a time of 2:07.65. Regis Laconi managed 2:09.10 on his debut on the PSG-1 Kawasaki.

All the riders worked through braking options, pad materials and airbox designs. Walker confirmed the chassis response and set-up was much better than the 2005 bike.

The next test for the team will be at Phillip Island in Australia on January 31-February 2, 2006.
