Top ten for McWilliams

Jeremy McWilliams took eighth place at the AMA Formula Xtreme round at Laguna Seca on Sunday, July 23, 2006.

McWilliams was riding the Warr’s Harley-Davidson Buell XBRR in the race, which was part of the MotoGP weekend. The former GP rider posted the seventh-fastest lap time during practice, but qualified in 15th after a disapointing session.

On the first lap McWilliams moved up from 15th to ninth, and eventually moved up to seventh by the fourth lap, but dropped to eighth by the finish.

“A top-ten finish with very little setup and practice time is a great result for this young effort,” said Erik Buell. “We’re learning quickly and the XBR is gaining performance and reliability, a trend that will continue as both we and the Warr’s team keep the effort levels high.”
The XBR is a limited-edition production race, based on the Firebolt XB12R. The team is run by Warr’s, which is Europe’s oldest official Harley-Davidson dealership, based in London.
