Rolfo rides the Blade

New Ten Kate Honda star Roberto Rolfo got his first meaningful ride on the Ten Kate Honda Superbike he’ll be riding next year.

Rolfo got his opportunity at Valencia’s big WSB test and has spoken of his thoughts after riding a four-cylinder superbike for the first time.

After starting by lapping in the 1:40s, the former 250 GP world title challenger was in the 1:37s by the end of day one before slashing another second off his time on day two.

After a so-so year on a Ducati 999 in 2006, Rolfo said: “I just rode the bike on day one but we started to change things on day two. The bike is very fast and I already have a good feeling.”

Rolfo did spend a year in MotoGP on a V4 Ducati Desmosedici for the D’Antin team.

The Ten Kate team has also officially announced the sponsorship deal with electronic firm Hannspree, first revealed in MCN seven weeks ago.
