Corser tests Yamaha

1 of 1

Troy Corser has tested with the Yamaha Motor Italia squad for the first time, following his switch from Alstare Suzuki.

Corser rode a 2006-spec YZF-R1 for 74 laps of the Mugello circuit in Italy to help the team understand his preferences to machine settings, and to give Corser a first impression of his new team. Both Corser and team-mate Noriyuki Haga will ride the 2007 model R1 at the official FG Sport test on November 14 and 15, 2006 at Valencia.

“I’m very happy with today’s results,” said Corser. “After altering the settings of foot pegs, handlebars and the thumb operated rear brake, i already felt quicte comfortable. The R1 has impressed me on several points, escpecially the mid range power and the chassis is very stable under braking. We worked on differet settings and the cooperation with the team worked out very well. At the end of the day i was already doing lap times equal to Noriyuki’s times here at Mugello.”
