Reigning world Supersport champion Sebastian Charpentier will be back in action at this weekend’s Assen round after missing the previous two races through injury.

Charpentier suffered a painful fall at Donington in free practice nearly four weeks ago.
He damaged his pelvis and coccyx and has been under going intensive rehabilitation in France to regain fitness.

Last time out in Valencia Charpentier’s Ten Kate Honda squad replaced the Frenchman with Australian Andrew Pitt.

Pitt impressed the team so much with the way he worked throughout the weekend along with his fine second position in the race they have decided to field him again as a third rider in what is the team’s home race.

Team boss, Ronald Ten Kate, said: “It has been very strange racing without Sebastian at the last two rounds because he has been a part of the team for so long. I’m sure he will give it 100 per cent to make a remarkable return to the championship.

“Also for Assen we have decided to bring in Andrew as a wingman to support our two top gun riders.

“Andrew impressed us a lot in Valencia so we see this as thank you to him for all his efforts. He is able to do some very important testing work on the new CBR600RR, which is still in the early stages of development.”
