Xerox Ducati team boss Davide Tardozzi has ended speculation Troy Bayliss will quit racing at the end of the season.

At the last round of the championship at Brands Hatch rumours emerged that Troy Bayliss was considering retirement at the end of the season following a tough 2007 campaign that has seen him get badly injured and currently sit fourth in the points standings.

Troy Bayliss has previously declared his intention to win the World Superbike championship on a three models of Ducati, starting with the 996 in 2001, the 999 in 2006 with his dream of a third title onboard the 1200c 1098 in 2008.

Davide Tardozzi is adamant Troy Bayliss will race next year onboard the new flagship 1200cc Ducati and is the man to spear their title campaign.

Speaking to MCN, Davide Tardozzi said: “Troy is 100 per cent confirmed for next year, no question.

“He has always said that he wants to finish his career as world champion. Next year he will have a very strong chance of winning the championship and for sure he will be trying hard.”
