Brit Craig Jones is hoping that improvements to his Reve Ekerold Honda CBR600RR following the Silverstone race will be enough to enable him to fight at the front during this weekends Misano World Supersport race.

The Reve Ekerold squad have been flat out developing the bike and have secured further support from Honda Europe thanks to the support and backing from Honda UK.

Jones said: “For Misano we should have a little bit more top end and a little bit more mid range and I’m hoping that it can give us the edge we’ve been missing. So far this year has been really frustrating, we could have had some good results but we’ve been a bit unlucky.

“This year has actually been more difficult than last year when I rode for FoggyPetronas. Last year no one expected me to do anything where as this year in Supersport there has been a lot of expectation.

“Since Silverstone I’ve been chomping at the bit to get back on the bike and put it right. The team have been working hard and I’ve spoken a lot with my crew chief and I’m feeling confident for the weekend. The reversed layout at Misano should make front end feel important, which suits me.

“I want to get out there and show people what I can do but I’m not planning on taking the world by storm in the first session. I want to work hard improve my qualifying so that by Brands Hatch in August I can be up there fighting for the win.”
