Xerox Ducati rider Michel Fabrizio has undergone surgery on his right forearm to alleviate problems he was experiencing in races with arm pump.

The 23-year-old Italian left the Assen circuit at the weekend and flew directly to Italy where he underwent surgery performed by World Superbike’s clinica mobile doctor Giorgio Gondolini.

Fabrizio has been struggling with arm pump since his arrival in the factory Ducati squad and elected to have the operation sooner rather than later.

Since the operation on Monday he has just 10 days to regain fitness for the team’s home race at Monza, Italy on May 11.

Michel Fabrizio was left with 26 stitches in his right forearm, but remains confident he will be fit for the Monza race.
