James Toseland made his WSB return in a two day test at Portimao this week.
Onboard Ben Spies title winning Yamaha R1, Toseland completed a massive 207 laps and spoke to MCN at the end of day two about his transition back the championship he has won twice.
With a new track and bike to learn, Toseland made a relatively slow start but was on Sunday’s race pace by the end of the second day.
He said: “I’ve enjoyed it and it’s a great track, but it has to be one of the hardest places to learn on a new bike.
“I’m happy with the time because I was riding knowing that I’m racing next week and I don’t want to crash. We’ve just gone faster and faster so it’s been a good start.”
