Gino Rea trains with BSB champ Leon Camier

European Superstock 600cc Champion Gino Rea and BSB Champ Leon Camier have been making the most out of the good weather in Spain.

Like the beginning of 2009, Rea has been pre-season training in Spain since early this month. The newly-crowned European Superstock 600 Champion drove over with BSB Champion Leon Camier to avoid the British weather conditions.

Starting off in the south of Spain near Murcia, cycling up to four hours a day with some motocross training, Gino then continued his training and stayed further north at Lloret de Mar while Leon headed back home to get ready for testing.

Rea said: “Last year we went out to Lloret de Mar in Feb for our pre-season training, I really enjoyed it and it made the world of difference.

“With the snow, ice and freezing cold temperatures at home in the UK it makes it hard to train properly, so we decided to come out again.

“It was a long drive down here but it has definitely been worth it. On the way here we went through some really bad snow in France, we done a total hours of around 19 hours driving, plus the stops for food etc.

“The weather’s been good here in Spain only with a odd day of rain. We’ve been hard at work and cycled around 220km+ in just the first two days when we arrived and have been clocking up the miles since.

“Along with some good motocross sessions, we also done 1000 press ups and 1000 sits ups in a day.

“I’m looking forward to getting things finalised for this year, unfortunately I’m not testing in Portimao (at the WSB test this weekend), but keep your eyes peeled for the official test or race in Phillip Island!

“In the meantime all I can do is keep fit and healthy.”
