Leon Haslam and his BMW Motorrad Italia WSB team will conclude a three-day private test at Valencia today. Following a solid start to the season that has seen the 27 year old Brit secure four top five finishes including a third place podium at Phillip Island, the German team are working flat out to further improve the S1000RR.

MCN understands that the main area of focus remains the power delivery and electronics with both Haslam and Corser unable to benefit from the full potential of the powerful engine.

Haslam suffered a big crash on the opening day of the test when he high sided, but was able to continue testing despite hitting his head.

The next round of the WSB championship takes place at Assen in The Netherlands on 15th to 17th April. Since switching to WSB from BSB in 2009, Haslam has secured three podiums at Assen from four starts, making it one of his most successful circuits on the calendar.

Last year both races were won by Ten Kate Honda rider Jonathan Rea.
