First look at Laverty onboard the Crescent Suzuki

Eugene Laverty got his first taste of the Voltcom Crescent Suzuki GSXR1000 he’ll be campaigning in WSB in a scheduled two day test at Jerez today.

The 26 year old Irishman joined the British Suzuki team after two years racing the factory Aprilia RSV4 squad where he finished second to Kawasaki man Tom Sykes in the final 2013 standings.

Laverty spent the majority of the opening day resolving an electronics issue that was affecting down shifts on the Suzuki but was still able to give initial impressions on the performance of his new bike.

Speaking to MCN from Jerez, Laverty said: “It feels very different to what I’ve been riding. We’ve had a few issues which mean I haven’t been able to start pushing for lap times. It’s got good points and some areas we need to work on. It’s early days and it’s a case of work in progress.”
