Corser's BMW team springs to life

After an aborted attempt to run a BMW Aussie dream team in 2014 an announcement is soon to be made about the former double World Champion’s plans to compete with a two-rider squad in WSB in 2015.

Leon Camier and Josh Brookes are the riders in the frame to represent what could be the strongest BMW entry in 2015, when the WSB championship rules will be revamped yet again to even out the playing field between factory and non-factory machinery, and between competing manufacturers.

Lack of suitable backing stopped Corser’s Aussie-based team idea before it could be confirmed in 2014 but Corser was due to make comment of some kind about his 2015 initiative at the previous Jerez round.

When those announcements never materialised it looked most likely he would miss out again but all the indications are that a new 2015 team, with Corser at the centre, will be unveiled on Saturday at Magny-Cours.

The team is expected to have the same customer support as any other squad in WSB racing, and have some assistance with electronics, but it is not expected to be any kind of return to a semi-official team.
