WSB Assen: Davies on top at flowing Assen

1 of 1

Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati WSB) led home an all-British top four in the combined results on Friday at the Assen WSB round, following up on his recent win at Motorland Aragon with a top spot at the next time of asking.

His best lap of 1’35.748 proved to be 0.320 seconds faster than Tom Sykes (KRT), with Sykes one place up on his team-mate Jonathan Rea.

Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Red Devils) placed fourth, 0.7 back at the flowing Assen circuit, while the first non-Brit was the most popular rider of all this weekend, local Pata Honda rider Michael van der Mark, went fifth.

Jordi Torres (Aprilia Racing Red Devils) was just over a second back from leader Davies and sixth overall.

A good recovery from electronics issues that ruined his Aragon weekend gave Alex Lowes (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) seventh place and the 2014 world champion Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda) placed eighth. Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corser) was tenth from 24 entrants on day one.
