Australian WSS: Cluzel and Zanetti make it MV one-two

1 of 1

Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti have made it an MV Agusta one-two in Phillip Island, clearing off at the front to leave the opposition out of sight. Frenchman Cluzel led almost flag to flag, with even teammate Zanetti unable to match his pace.

The real battle of the race was that for the final runner-up spot, though, with a five way battle between Brits Gino Rea and Kyle Smith, former champion Kenan Sofuoglu, Ratthapark Wilairot and Lucas Mahias.

It was Rea, though, making his return from Moto2, who took the spot, holding off WSS rookie Smith on the last lap. Wilairot was fifth, while Sofuoglu came back to a strong sixth after running wide and dropping back to nineteenth. Mahias crashed out with five laps to go.
