Badovini pleased with Donington results

Ayrton Badovini says he’s delighted with his progress on the BMW Italia S1000RR since he replaced Frenchman Sylvain Barrier earlier in the season.

Now four rounds into his tenure with the squad, the Italian managed to pip Alex Lowes for fifth in the closing stages of race one at Donington Park last weekend, and was lucky to finish ninth in race two after a huge moment that he was lucky to save.

“I’m really pleased with race 1. We were able to score an excellent result, which was not handed over to us given how worked very hard to achieve it. In race 2 the bike was fast and I could have done better but I got stuck in the pack off the line and had a couple of small problems. We hadn’t made any changes to my bike for race 2 but weather conditions were different and, with more grip, the bike was more nervous and difficult to manage.

“However the important thing is that we’ve understood even more about our bike and I am starting to go faster. Already in Imola we’d made a good step forward and I thank the team for all their great work. Now we’ll prepare for Portimao.”
