At the start of what could be a pivotal weekend for long-time WSS championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) he took the fastest practice time after two track sessions, with a 1’41.660.

Local charger Lukas Mahias (MG Competition Yamaha) placed a strong second at his local track. Like most of the top riders – but unlike Sofuoglu – he set his fastest time in the second session.

Despite a crash in the afternoon, early in the session, Patrick ‘PJ’ Jacobsen (Core” Motorsport Thailand Honda) secured an overnight third place, while Kyle Smith (PATA Honda World Supersport Team) was fourth fastest.

The lead MV Agusta rider was Lorenzo Zanetti (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) in fifth with top MV privateer Alex Baldolini (Race Department ATK#25 MV Agusta) in sixth place. Marco Faccani (San Carlo Puccetti Racing Kawasaki) placed seventh and the man who will ride in place of Jules Cluzel for the final two rounds of the championship, Nico Terol, was eighth on his official MV.

The first session was red flagged with a minute to go when Gino Rea (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda) crashed heavily, injuring a finger and shoulder. He was not able to ride in the second session today, and was 11th as a result.
