Josh Hayes to ride Tech 3 Yamaha at Valencia test

American superbike champion Josh Hayes will test Colin Edwards’ Yamaha YZR-M1 800cc MotoGP bike after the final race in Valencia next month.

The 36-year-old will ride the current 800cc machine and Tech 3 team boss Herve Poncharal told MCN: “Josh Hayes is coming to Valencia to test our bike. He’s been offered the ride by Monster and Yamaha US to make a few laps and it has been agreed by Yamaha.”

Hayes, who won his second successive American superbike crown in a dramatic final round in New Jersey last month, is married to female racer Melissa Paris and she will also be in Valencia to ride Bradley Smith’s Tech 3 Mistral 610 Moto2 machine.
