Camier aims to learn from Biaggi

Leon Camier believes that he can glean valuable information from his team-mate Max Biaggi in an effort to get to the front of WSB this year.

In testing Camier has spent time recalibrating his mind and riding style to suit the Aprilia RSV4 after jumping off his Airwaves Yamaha R1 in BSB.

Speaking to MCN, Camier said: “Max understands how the bike needs to be ridden where as I’m still making the switch.

“I asked the team at Portimao about our set-ups and they are actually pretty similar in a lot of ways which is a good thing when we get to new tracks because I’ll be able to look at his data.”

Since first riding the bike at Magny Cours, Camier and his factory team have made a host of changes to the Aprilia and the work is starting to net results.

“We didn’t really change much at the final two rounds, but during winter testing it changed a lot.

“At the first test we mainly tried new parts but then in Valencia we found a different way of working which I liked and the team were happy with and then when we got back to Portugal I liked it again.

“The team are being really proactive and coming up with things I like, which is encouraging so all we have to do is keep our heads down, keep working and try and bridge the gap to the front guys.”
