Teenage Tester

Our resident teenager, Ed is our authority when it comes to small-capacity bikes, scooters, electric ‘urban mobility’ and Snapchat.

After learning to ride and passing his CBT, he cut his teeth on a WK Scrambler 50 which was ridden to college every day, in all weather, all year round (and so he now also knows a thing or two about anti-corrosion potions and heated riding gear). Testing for MCN, he has since visited every corner of the 125 market, from funky Monkey bike to head-down race replica, gangly trail bike to whispering electric scooter. He’s an expert on ‘speed on the flat’ and what’s cool to saunter into college on. He also bought himself a Sinnis Outlaw 125 is gloriously shouty yellow.

Despite being a teen, Ed’s more likely to be impressed by ride comfort, practicality and build quality than flashing lights and a dash that prattles to your smartphone. Personal taste is for ‘bikes that look like bikes’ rather than overly showy creations, and he’s a big fan of modern-day riding jeans and boots that look more like trainers. Well, he is a teenager… He's also an expert on all things James Bond and dab hand with an under-and-over shotgun.
