Bargain Hunter | Hot modular helmet deals that'll flip your lid!

Whether you call them flip-front, modular or dual homologated, there’s no denying the convenience of a helmet with a hinged chin bar. For professional riders, from the Police to Deliveroo, it means not having to repeatedly take your lid off in the line of duty, and the rest of us can pay for petrol, eat and drink, or just engage with other humans without the faff of breaking the seal when buttoned up for bad weather.

And when things get warmer you have the option of instantly switching from full to open face for extra ventilation too – ideal for if you’re touring Europe, for example, where conditions could be subject to change dramatically along your journey.

All modular helmets certified to the latest ECE 22.06 standard are approved for use open or closed, but those certified to ECE 22.05 had to meet dual homologation as both P (full face) and J (open face) to be used in either configuration. Some older flips only have a P certification, so should not be worn in the open position.

I’ve picked out a selection of deals to cover all budgets, so there’ll surely be something that’ll make you flip your lid…
