New kit this week

Kriega’s popular R15 and R20 backpacks are now available in the stealthy MultiCam Black colourway, providing a welcome option to the traditional monochrome look. Both feature the firm’s trademark Quadloc-lite harness, an uber-tough 500D Cordura construction and are compatible with the Hydrapak and back protector system.

Offering a significant upgrade over stock units, these limited edition shocks are aimed at the GS rider looking to tackle more challenging terrain. Developed to replace both conventional and electronic DDA equipped units, they’re fully serviceable and available as either a single unit or pair for standard and Adventure models.
The latest version of Astars’ sporty street boots has an all-new rubber sole that makes them just as practical on the track as wearing on the ride to work. A combination of soft and hard armour provides impact protection, with a lateral ankle brace for support. Construction is microfibre, reinforced with TPU in key areas.
Designed to be worn under or over a jacket, the latest airbag in Dainese’s D-air line up is certified to the higher CE level 2 for both chest and back protection. The activation system is fully automated, and once inflated the vest can absorb seven times more energy than traditional armoured kit.
Weight and space are crucial considerations when packing for any kind of adventure, and at just 2.5kg and 32 x 14 x 19cm, Oxford’s new Micro Tent should be a shoe in. Despite the small pack size, it’s big enough for rider and kit once erected, with a claimed setup time of just 5 minutes.

Last week’s releases

It could be argued that a flip-front adventure lid is as versatile as safety helmets get, in which case the new X.Lifecountry ticks all the boxes. Designed and manufactured in Portugal, it boasts a full carbon shell with dual homologation, so you can ride with it open or closed, and it’s prepped for an integrated mesh intercom.
Keeping your bike out of sight should be the first line of defence in any security set up. But not only will this high quality bike sheath from Oxford shield it from prying eyes, it’s also waterproof up to 10,000mm HH on the outside, with a soft, fully tethered inner liner to keep your shiny bits scratch free too.
Repairing fairing lugs is par for the course on older bikes, as the plastic material gets brittle with age. A hot stapler can make the job a whole lot easier than messing about with glue, and this rechargeable device from Power-TEC even has a built in LED so you can see exactly what you’re fixing. Comes with three 50-packs of staples.
Owners of Hinckley built Triumphs such as the 955/1050 Sprint, Speed Triple and Tiger family, 675/955 Daytona and 900 Thruxton can now benefit from Brit based Venhill’s home grown Featherlight throttle cable upgrade. With a marine grade stainless steel core and PTFE liner, they promise increased strength and less friction.
Designed for 6 to 16 year olds, this waterproof, retro styled bomber jacket is certified to CE AA standard and comes with back, shoulder and elbow armour. A clever sleeve design allows for up to 3cm of extension in the arms, so it should see them through the odd growth spurt or two. Available in sizes XS to XL.

Tune in next week for even more brand new kit finds to keep you on the edge.
