New kit this week

This waterproof backpack from accessory specialists Pyramid is meant to be versatile and feature-full, with lots of possibilities for its £50 RRP. Made out of heat-resistant and easy-clean 500D PVC, it integrates an air release valve to quickly compress the load, and padded shoulder straps for added comfort.
Marketed as an all-in-one casual summer riding boot, the Skyline Air WP from footwear specialists Eleveit is designed with high breathability and waterproofing in mind, without compromising walking comfort for the sake of protection. Prices start at £150, featuring a lace-plus-zip closure and thin rubberised gear lever pad.
Richa's Monaco jacket is meant to provide ample airflow, for anyone riding in temperatures akin to its namesake. CE A rated with D3O protectors at the shoulders and elbows, it comes with a detachable waterproof membrane that fits over the top of the garment, should the heavens open up unexpectedly.
Oxford's Retra Cable is a small and simple way to thwart any opportunists from making off with your luggage while you're not around. The retractable steel braided cable is 1.5mm thick and up to 120cm in length, and can be locked around anything with a four digit combination.
Known for their range of high-spec helmets, the Y.TRAVL from Portuguese firm NEXX is priced at a cool £179.99 for the plain black or white versions. Still designed and made in Europe along with the rest of their range, it's available in two shell sizes, and is aerodynamically optimised to minimise turbulence.

Last week’s releases

Brit firm Ruroc has teamed up with rockers Iron Maiden to release a limited edition collection featuring artwork from two of the band’s iconic albums. ‘Piece of Mind’ and ‘Writing on the Wall’ adorn the range topping EOX, which features a carbon fibre shell and provision for an integrated Cardo intercom.
Ideal for the summer, these short cuff sports styled gloves have extensive mesh panels and a moisture wicking lining to help your hands breathe on the bars. Construction is a leather and textile hybrid, with a PU knuckle protector that earns them a CE 1 KP certification. Touchscreen compatible.
The fifth generation of REV’IT!’s all-season adventure jacket benefits from significant upgrades in both warm and wet weather performance. More generous vents on the chest and back improve air flow, and the waterproof layer can now be worn under or over the main shell. Matching trousers are £349.99.
Adventure touring specialists Touratech have released a whole range of bespoke products for the latest BMW F900GS, including this rather robust fairing crash bar. Providing protection for plastics, radiator and fuel tank, it’s constructed from stainless steel tubing and comes in silver or black.
Whether you’ve got a 6- or 12-volt lead acid battery, be it Std, AGM or Gel, the Optimate 5 has been engineered as a one-stop shop for all your charging and maintenance needs. Ideal for anyone with a collection of classic and modern bikes to negate the need for multiple chargers.
