Arai unveil new limited-edition helmet to mark 25 years since Joey Dunlop's death

Arai are celebrating the legacy of road racing legend, Joey Dunlop by releasing a limited-edition helmet 25 years after his death, with the anniversary marked on July 2 this year.

600 individually numbered Arai RX-7V Evos are exclusively available through The Visor Shop; each comes with a personally signed certificate from Linda Dunlop, Joey’s wife.

The helmet is styled to match Joey’s signature yellow and black Arai helmets that he wore throughout his dramatic racing career.

In the box, The Visor Shop have included a 25th anniversary badge and a Shell Oil sticker pack, so you can choose whether to complete the look of Joey’s ‘80s competition lid or go without.

Joey secured 26 TT race wins over his career, spanning over a quarter of a century, and in 1996, he was awarded an OBE for his humanitarian work helping Balkan orphans. After he died, over 50,000 bikers and mourners attended his funeral in Garryduff in Co. Antrim.

A royalty from every sale will go to Linda, and a donation to a new Joey Dunlop monument at the Memorial Garden in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland.

Though this helmet is bound to appeal to collectors, not just riders, the ECE 22.06-rated RX-7V Evo is a fantastic motorcycle helmet both on and off the track, and we gave it a maximum 5 stars on our long-term 1000-mile test last year.

The Joey Dunlop Arai RX-7V Evo helmet is exclusive to The Visor Shop and costs £869.99.
