RST to incorporate flexible orange D3O armour in 2026 motorcycle clothing range

Popular motorcycle clothing brand RST have confirmed that they will use D3O armour across their range in 2026 – following a year of development in race suits both on short circuits, and on the roads.

“At RST, we’re proud to collaborate with the industry’s leading innovators in rider protection,” Vice President of RST, Stuart Millington said. “D3O is at the forefront of impact protection technology, making a partnership with such a pioneering brand a natural progression in RST’s evolution”

D3O armour is distinguished from the competition by its bright orange colour. It’s made of what’s known as a non-Newtonian material – meaning it remains soft and supple when you’re riding, before going hard during a heavy impact.

This makes it ideal for motorcycle armour, but it’s also used in motorcycle grips, shoe insoles, protective phone cases, and even by the US Department of Defense and NASA.

“Our partnership with RST reinforces D3O’s position as the global leader in impact protection,” CMO of D3O, Mostyn Thomas added. “Our iconic orange armour delivers unrivalled protection and exceptional comfort, giving riders the confidence to push their limits without compromise.”

Racers who have helped develop the collaboration include British Superbike front runner Glenn Irwin, as well as 16-time Isle of Man TT winner, Ian Hutchinson.

Ahead of the full range using the new armour, a D3O-equipped limited-edition RST x TT race suit was available to pre-order during the Isle of Man TT fortnight – the event that saw the launch of the partnership.

Other brands already using D3O include Furygan, Richa, and TCX. Visit the D3O website for more.
