Rapidly expanding UK motorcycle kit retailer Sportsbike Shop are set to open a new store in Southampton this summer.

The shop is currently set for an early July opening, with a finalised date yet to be confirmed. The exact location also remains under wraps for now.

“It was always on the list, if I’m totally honest it was probably on the top three, it was one of the first ones we wanted to open,” Sportsbike Shop Managing Director, Chris ‘Bernie’ Winters told MCN. “We’re having a great summer, a great season. March was fantastic, April even better, so there’s clearly a desire to get out there and ride motorcycles.”

Sportsbike Shop are known for a wide range of stock availability, ranging from budget bike kit through to the big brands like Alpinestars, Dainese and Klim.

“The whole concept of a motorcycle clothing store – where you can just come in and spend some time, drink coffee, kick tyres and talk to other bikers – is you get to enjoy your passion of motorcycles, while going to a shop,” Winters continued.

“Our guys are there to talk to customers, and it’s very rare that we will employ anybody that doesn’t ride bikes.

“We’ve always had a store here at our headquarters in Boston, but we only started opening stores outside of here in 2018 – Milton Keynes being the first one. Seven years later we’ve gone from one to 11.”

According to the MD, Southampton is one of the most regularly requested locations for a new store, which will be spread over two floors and will be similar in size and stock levels to the Norwich branch. It will feature the try on or buy service and 365 day returns.

Following the announcement of a new shop, Sportsbike Shop have now also taken to social media to confirm that their Boston bike nights are to return on the May 13, July 15, and September 9 this year.
