Motorcycle insurance advice: When is security not good value?

1 of 1

When is security not good insurance value? According to Neil Rolls from Bedford it’s when you move your bike from a single garage to a secure storage facility with plenty of locks and an alarm system linked into the Police.

“I used to keep my VFR800 in a single garage around the corner from my house, but then I rented space in this premises about eight miles away with all the bells and whistles on it.”

"But when I went to renew my insurance with my old company and proudly told them about my conscienous decision to store the bike in an alarmed facility, they tried to load the premium by £35!

"I couldn’t believe it, so I told them to sling it and went shopping for bike insurance on MCN Compare where I saved £165.”
