Suzuki V-Strom 1000 XT

Having spent the summer of 2017 riding 6500miles on BMW's excellent R1200GS Rallye, I've now swapped it for Suzuki's V-Strom 1000 XT – making the move from boxer twin to V-twin, and a dramatically more affordable bike. But while the V-Strom is a whopping £6401 cheaper than the GS Rallye, it's not short on spec – with cornering ABS and traction control now standard. With a target to #ride5000miles in winter, this is going to be an interesting journey.
