What's the best tyre for year-round riding?

1 of 1

Q. As I commute through winter on my bike, I’m interested in fitting a rear tyre that will cope with all the rain, slush and snow and still give decent grip when the weather is fine.

I’ve got the OE Bridgestone BT016s front and rear now, but the rear is due for replacing in the next couple of weeks.

A. Roadsmarts will give the best wet weather grip, without doubt, but they won’t steer as quickly or grip as well as a proper sports tyre in the dry.

The best sports tyres at the moment are the new Dunlop Qualifier II.
