Suzuki GSX-R750 fuel pump fault

1 of 1

Q. At the moment my Suzuki GSX-R750 K3 will rev through to redline without issue in first, but only to 8000rpm in any other gear if I give it a handful.

If I feather the throttle as I accelerate I can get it to rev higher in the other gears, but it climbs very slowly. Any ideas?

A. Fuel is obviously getting to the engine, but it sounds like there’s an insufficient flow to maintain the heavier load in the higher gears.

That would indicate a fuel pump pressure problem, which wouldn’t show up as a fuel injection warning light.

It’s probably worth an hour’s dealer workshop rates to plug it into a diagnostic unit and track the problem down.
