Meet Aaron, Britain’s youngest stunt rider

Aaron Stannage may still be at infant school but he has already performed in front of crowds of over 40,000, appeared on TV and been a fashion model. Oh, and he also currently the UK’s youngest stunt rider.

Despite being only six he has been performing professionally for three years, longer than many adult riders out there.

For Aaron it was a case of following the family tradition. His father Mark has been a professional stunt rider with James Dillon’s Stuntworld for 16 years.

” When he was about six months old I used to sit him on my bike and ride around the arena. The crowds loved it and so did Aaron. Then for his second birthday I bought him a Malaguti Grizzly with stabilisers. ”

Just a year later, Aaron had perfected standing on the seat while riding along and bursting through a ‘wall’ made of tin foil.

” We built him some small ramps so he could do ramp to ramp jumps. But by the time he was five we had to take away the landing ramp, he was overshooting it! He can easily clear 30 feet. ” .

Now at the age of six Aaron can jump people, stand on the seat and wave at the crowd, ride with both his feet over the handlebars and even pull stoppies. And surprisingly even his school approves of his extra curricular activity, it allows him to practice his stunts after school on the playground.

” I want to be a freestyle jumper, ” said the mini daredevil. He has also scheduled some lesson with Jake Semtex, a family friend, on how to pull wheelies.
