Strange but true

1 of 1

Here’s our latest round-up of bike related madness from around the world.

THAILAND: Residents of Nonthanburi are flocking to see a five-foot monitor lizard. Grieving mum Chamlong Taengniem believes the reptile is the reincarnation of her son who was killed in a bike accident. It followed her home after his cremation, slept on his mattress and likes the same food as him.

UK: Entries are flooding in for the first Miss Nude UK competition, spurred on by the prize of a scooter. Make up your own jokes about grease nipples etc here.

SEX is to be banned from bikes this September. The three letter word has been deemed too offensive to form part of the new number plate system coming into effect in two months time. It’s unclear whether you’ll get a TIT or two though.

ITALY: Fashion designers are using biking gear to inspire their 2002 ranges. A black leather bike suit worn with a black and white polka dot tie was among the fashion statements stepping on to the catwalks at the Milan fashion show.

NEW ZEALAND: A bike burst into flames after it was attacked by a woman wielding an axe. Marcia Hannah decided to hit former partner Zeik Davis where it hurts – his Harley – after an argument. Hannah was fined £100 and ordered to pay £150 to the fire brigade, which was called to tackle the blaze.
