Woman airlifted to hospital from coleslaw wrestling

Published: 04 March 2001

COLESLAW wrestling often reveals some of the finer points of Daytona Bike Week.

But the crowd gathered at the Cabbage Patch for the annual bikini-clad bouts got more than their usual eyeful.

A skydiver, hired to impress the crowd, misjudged his landing and came down heavily on a woman serving beer.

She was knocked out and had to be taken to hospital by helicopter and last reports indicate she was left in a " serious condition " .

The skydiver was uninjured and the party atmosphere among 30,000 motorcyclists attending the event soon returned to normal.

Apart from the salad-soaked set-to’s in the ring, ladies around the arena seemed overcome by the occasion and fell to the urge to " get them out " time and time again.

Here’s hoping our photographer got lucky. More images from Daytona are due today and over the weekend.
