Yamaha is extending its R1 insurance deal across its entire line-up, opening the way for many to have the bike they actually want, rather than the one they can insure. And the promise is, this won’t be a one-year wonder.

You can read full details of this barrier-breaking move in MCN, out on Wednesday, together with how Yamaha’s R1 deal has seen sales of the 2001 R1s rocket.

But that’s not all you get exclusively in MCN this week. Inside you’ll find:

Full spec and details on the 180bhp FireBlade you can buy for the road,

The world’s first full test of Honda’s new STX1300 Pan European,

An exclusive interview with the cop leading the clampdown on pub meet stunt riders

A nightmare lap as a pillion with Ron Haslam

The amazing tale of how we tackled Death Valley, on a knackered classic,

How to give Suzuki’s GSX1400 an extra 35 bhp (or boost it to 200bhp),

Cruisers which hit 60mph in under four seconds and 100mph in less than 10,

A close up on the 98-99 Honda FireBlade,

Our new long-term test fleet… and the opportunity to help out with it,

PLUS: seven pages of What’s On, hundreds of brilliant bikes-for-sale bargains, the inside story from Brands MCN British Superbikes and why Ducati wants Biaggi to rides its V4.

That is, of course, not all… but we think it’s probably enough to be going on with.
