Your views on "unsafe" sportsbikes…

News that a ZX-12R owner is preparing a complaint against Kawasaki, after claiming that the bike’s compact design prevents him from making proper " rear observations " , has stirred up a storm on our News boards.

On the advice of Trading Standards officers, Steve Breeze, 42, is compiling evidence to present to Kawasaki and hopes others who have the same difficulty will step forward.

" I like the bike, but I can’t turn my head safely to see what is behind, " Breeze told MCN.

Barn1 blasted Breeze: " what a dunce… another example of our blame-happy society at work. If he has a problem with the riding position, why the hell did he buy the bike in the first place? Then to “complain” (read: big fat frivolous lawsuit) afterwards is just plain stupid! "

mad2 pointed out: " Neil Hodgson didn’t have much trouble taking several looks behind at Nori Haga on Sunday and that was on a 998 Ducati. The ZX12R is a tourer by comparison. May I recommend a Goldwing fitted with caravan mirrors? "

And dave sp1 summed up the feelings of virtually every respondent: " What a nobber!! If this guy cannot turn his head enough to look behind him he shouldn’t be riding.

" I shall therefore ask that MCN forward this persons details onto the DVLA for immediate removal of the right to carry a driving license. "
