Spot ‘dpc’ on tour on Thursday

1 of 1

JUST two days left to spot MCN’s David Cushman on tour. Pull it off and you could win a great prize.

All you have to do is go up to him at one of his frequent stops, hand over your name, address and daytime contact details and you’ll be entered in the draw to win a fantastic Furygan TXR jacket, worth £170.

And if you’re already talking to him, take a moment to tell ‘dpc’ (that’s his user name on the site) what you think MCN and motorcyclenews.com should be doing better, and what it should stop doing altogether.

Dpc is riding his long-term test ZZ-R1200, a silver one with hard panniers on. He’s wearing an Alpinestars all-weather jacket in red and black and an Arai Astro lid in red/grey/white.

Today he’ll be leaving Fort William to head south to Glencoe before travelling east through this famous glen. If there’s time, he’ll drop into the Glencoe Visitor Centre and then it’s on to the A82 across Rannoch Moor. From here it’s south to Tyndrum for a break at Clifton coffee shop. Then he’s off on the A82 and A85 to check out Killin and the falls at Dochart before turning south on the A84 down the Pass of Leny to Callender, then Stirling.

From Stirling it’s full tilt south down the M9 to Edinburgh before bypassing the city on the A720 and in to the Scottish borders for an overnight stop near Melrose.

He’s staying in that area overnight and we’ll let you know where to join him for a pint, later.

Keep checking back for updates on his progress throughout today and the rest of the week.

Update 09.00am:

The Scottish sun is shining on the travelling Sassenach. He’s turning South now, down the A82/A85. The state of the Tarmac is a bit iffy in places while magic in others. The ZZ-R1200 seems to be handling it all with few worries, and continues to prove it’s a fine successor to the ZZ-R1100’s mantle of super-smooth, super-fast armchair on wheels.

Update 01.00pm:

Despite the weatherman’s warnings this sky remains resolutely blue for dpc. He’s hacking down the A84 for a flying visit to Stirling and the Wallace monument. Who’s Wallace? Remember Mel Gibson chopping bits off redcoats? That’s the man.
