Updated: Spot ‘dpc’ on tour on Monday

1 of 1

KEEP an eye out for MCN’s David Cushman today. He’s on tour through the UK and if you spot him you could be in with a chance of a great prize.

All you have to do is go up to him at one of his frequent stops, hand over your name, address and daytime contact details and you’ll be entered in the draw.

And if you’re already talking to him, take a moment to tell ‘dpc’ (that’s his user name on the site) what you think MCN and motorcyclenews.com should be doing better, and what it should stop doing altogether.

Dpc is riding his long-term test Kawasaki ZZ-R1200, a silver one with hard panniers on. He’s wearing an Alpinestars all-weather jacket in red and black and an Arai Astro lid in red/grey/white.

Today he’ll be leaving Penrith, Cumbria, in the morning to ride up the M6 to Gretna, then on the M74 as far as junction 14 before turning left towards Wanlockhead (the highest village in Scotland) on the dramatic B797 Mennock Pass.

From Mennock he’s heading north on the A76 to Sanquhar, through Cumnock before bypassing Kilmarnock and picking up the A78 to Largs.

From there it’s north to Gourock to catch the Caledonian Macbrayne ferry to Dunoon.

Back on dry land he’ll head west on the B836 and then south on the A8003 to Tighnabruaich, which is where you’ll find him this evening supping a pint somewhere pleasant (we’ll give you more clues as to exactly where, later today).

Keep checking back for updates on his progress throughout today and the rest of the week.

Updated 3.30pm:

It’s a balmy 30 degrees around Largs, where dpc has just reported from. He’s enjoying glorious Tarmac and fantastic views from the perch of his ZZ-R1200. He reckons he’s well on course for supper and a well-earned pint in the Royal Hotel in Tighnabruaich. So drop in and say hello. Don’t forget, give him your name, number address and e-mail and you go into the draw for a fantastic £170 Furygan TXR jacket.
