Design your dream Ducati

1 of 1

Think you can improve on the 999? Well, Ducati is going to give you the chance to prove it. The Italian firm has just launched a competition inviting visions for its future designs.

It is open to professional designers and happy amateurs alike and you could win anything from a cash prize to a new Ducati. The winners may even see their designs adopted on future models.

There’s also a non-motorcycle category, where you can send in your designs for Ducati’s non-bike projects like watches, clothes and even films.

All the entries will be judged initially by a public jury. That means anyone logging on to the firm’s website: www.ducati.com will be able to have a say in who wins. Two designs will be chosen as winners at this point.

On top of that, Ducati will appoint an expert jury which will select what it considers to be the 30 best entrants, and will then narrow it down to one overall winning bike design and one non-bike design. They will judge the entrants on originality and their coherence with the Ducati image as well as looking at the technical feasibility of the bike designs.

The closing date for entries is February 28 2003, and all the winners, as decided by both the public and the expert juries, will be announced on July 31 2003.

All the entry forms and regulations can be found at www.ducati.com.
